It's a rather chilly evening in Boise, Id this February 18th. That's just outside though. Inside Treefort Music Hall it might be an intimate crowd, but the vibes are warm and so is the music. As for the crowd, the night is just getting started and Dozey Dubs is getting the fire started for Long Beach Dub All Stars, and Bedouin SoundClash.

Dozey Dubs kicked the night off. There's not much to say about these guys and gals. I've been watching these guys entertain and taking their photos since they were just getting started. Hard working group and I love them. Always smiles and it shows through their music and in their loyal fans. From a list of originals to a handful of reinspired covers, it is obvious they love what they do.

What do you call a band that beat Adelle out for number on the pop charts…in Romania? You would call them Bedouin Soundclash. They took the stage next tonight. A 3 piece band that formed in 2001 in Toronto, ON,CA . Live some wear between ska and folk with alt rock thrown in there. These guys raised the bar for the night. Still an intimate crowd for Treefort Hall  but more people have been trickling in. I really enjoyed this group, having not heard of them before I was delighted by their sound and showmanship. They closed their set with a cover of John Denver's “Country Roads”  . They have a spot in my playlist and look forward to seeing them again.

Long Beach Dub All Stars came out on stage and after minor and short technical difficulty, they kicked off their set. The crowd didn't grow much more from the previous set so this remained a fairly small show. Which is disappointing all these bands deserve a sold out house. I enjoy Long Beach Dub All Stars, I listen to them fairly regularly. First time seeing them live. I wasn't disappointed but it did leave me wanting more and I don't think it's their fault. For what little crowd there was they did have them all dancing and enjoying themselves. The ska, meets some psychedelic rock, reggae meets  some rap sound was pleasing. It made you forget that it had been snowing throughout the day. The sax and flute was absolutely amazing.  They played a cover of one of my favorite songs by Butthole Surfers, “Pepper”.  Their version was excellent.

As I sit here finishing up this review, I have Dozey Dubs dancing together by the merch area. Closing out the night to some green and orange accented with the music from Long Beach Dub All Stars isn't bad at all. Although I think this show had lots of potential, sometimes that's the breaks and it happens. All  the bands played it like a sold out show and that's what really matters in the end always leave it all on the stage and they did.
