It was August 6th, a Wednesday, when I walked into the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, ID. The sun was shining, a few clouds were in the sky, and the crowd was filling into the amphitheater for an evening of music and dancing.

Up first was Melt; hailing from New York City, and carrying an indie-soul sound, they started the night perfectly. They blend rock instrumentals with beautiful vocals, coupled with great stage presence. Melt was a great start to the evening.

When My Morning Jacket took the stage, the crowd ignited. They played fan favorites, and deep cuts for the dedicated following they have carried over their long career. During their show, I was amazed by how many fans I met that had traveled all over the country to see them play. This band certainly carries it’s fans with them, and for good reason; they rock! Through more guitar changes than I could count, and a gorgeous stage design, they put on a great concert I will not soon forget.
