On Tuesday July 29th, The Lumineers and Tom Odell came to the Extra Mile Arena. The crowd was a solid mix of teenage girls in long white skirts and 30-40 year olds who have clearly been fans from the beginning.
Tom Odell opened and was so excellent. I was disappointed that the crowd was sparse and seemingly disinterested because his vocals and skill on the piano were so magical. I’ve noticed a trend of skipping the openers at concerts and I beg you: don’t! You’re missing out on some really phenomenally talented artists if you miss the openers!
Anyway, off my soapbox.
The Lumineers took the stage at around 8:45 and put on a hell of a show. They played songs new and old, spanning across their entire discography. Their stage presence was incredible and they had a lot of fun visuals and crowd interactions. They had such a positive energy and created a really nice atmosphere. I would absolutely see them again and can’t recommend them enough!
